Frequently asked questions

HomeFrequently asked questions

Practical answers about submissions, editing, rights and access. The call or book agreement remains the reference for project-specific conditions.

Do I need an account to submit?

No. The public form does not require a WordPress account. Each application receives a reference and a private tracking link, which should be kept for updates and enquiries.

May I submit an idea before completing the manuscript?

Yes. Submit a title, summary, preliminary contents and stage of completion. A DOCX upload is optional initially; the editorial office may request a sample or complete version before the next stage.

How do the two submission routes differ?

“Publish with us” handles independent proposals. The collective route associates a chapter with a specific book, call and outline. It also permits a new edited-volume proposal, recorded separately from a contribution to an announced call.

Is acknowledgement a final acceptance?

No. Acknowledgement confirms registration only. A publication decision follows the applicable assessment, review and agreement stages; status and comments are available on the tracking page.

Does the press work in Arabic and English?

Yes. The website and service information are bilingual, and the press considers Arabic, English and authorised translation projects according to expertise and rights. Switching the interface does not automatically translate a book file or change its language.

Which disciplines are covered?

The programme is organised into eight primary fields described on the Publishing fields page. Suitability and review expertise are considered before commitment. A work is not assigned to multiple primary fields simply to increase visibility.

Do you arrange ISBN and legal deposit?

The press coordinates ISBN allocation and a legal-deposit number with the National Library and Archives in Baghdad under the applicable procedures and agreement. Numbers are recorded after issue and verification; they do not by themselves represent institutional recognition or peer review.

Are typesetting and cover design included?

An agreement may include typesetting, editing, proofreading, cover design, proofs, printing and a digital edition. Inclusions are stated explicitly in the book proposal rather than assumed to apply automatically to every project.

Will my authorial voice be preserved?

Language correction and clarification are distinguished from changes to meaning or findings. Substantive alterations are discussed with the author, and text and proofs are approved before production under the agreed process.

How are fees and timelines determined?

They depend on length, language, readiness, review requirements and production and distribution specifications. An estimate follows assessment; collective calls state their approved fees and deadlines.

Is participation in book fairs guaranteed?

Fairs are discussed within the book’s promotion plan, and specific participation is confirmed when arrangements are approved. Distribution does not imply attendance at every fair or a particular sales volume.

Does submission transfer copyright?

No. Publication, translation, reproduction, access and royalty terms are established by agreement with the rights holder. The form is for submission and assessment, not copyright assignment.

Can a thesis be developed into a book?

A proposal may be considered after thesis status, rights and relevant permissions are clarified. The text should be adapted for book readers through structural revision and appropriate reduction of repetition or examination-specific material. Suitability is not established merely by changing the thesis title.

How do I upload a revised version?

Use the tracking link. An upload section appears when the application status permits updates. Earlier versions are retained, so a new application is not needed for the same manuscript.

Are submitted files publicly accessible?

Submission attachments are not placed in the public media library. They remain within the private application record and require access validation for download. Tracking-link confidentiality and administrative backups remain important.

What if the email does not arrive?

Keep the reference and tracking link shown after submission and check spam folders. Contact the press from your registered address with the reference. Successful storage does not guarantee that your email provider delivered the message to the inbox.

Are illustrative covers published books?

Covers labelled “Design preview” illustrate subject presentation and design. They are not records of issued books and do not carry invented ISBNs or author names. Actual publications are displayed with their approved covers and bibliographic details when added to the catalogue.
