Academic studies and projects

HomeAcademic studies and projects

A pathway for developing knowledge projects beyond a single book, including research programmes, editorial series and thematic studies, with scholarly responsibility and deliverables defined from the outset.

From question to project plan

The press supports the organisation of proposals, scope, contents, expected outputs and readership. Project leads can discuss whether the material is best developed as a book, study, report or series. Suitability begins with the scholarly question and delivery resources, not with an appealing title alone.

Scholarly series

A series requires a defined scope, editorial plan, acceptance criteria and consistent metadata, while each volume retains its own title and authorship. The series editor’s role and title-selection process are specified. A series label should not be used to group unrelated books without a defensible intellectual connection.

Research and editorial collaboration

We welcome collaborative proposals from universities, research centres and scholarly teams. Responsibilities for data collection, analysis, authorship, review and publication are made explicit. Scope, rights, funding and disclosure are agreed before public announcement, and institutional names or logos are not used without consent.

Quality, data and contributor rights

The scholarly record is protected through documentation, version management and clear distinction between findings and editorial opinion. Permissions, contributor responsibilities and the risks of disclosing sensitive data are considered. Independent research remains grounded in its evidence; findings are not changed to satisfy a sponsor.

Submitting a project

Submit an outline through “Publish with us”, selecting the appropriate type and describing objectives, team, current progress and a proposed timetable. For a multi-chapter edited project, use “Collective volumes” so the editorial office can assess its scope before any call is announced.
